This week Mr. X and I went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with three other couples for five days. We stayed at a lovely all-inclusive resort and pretty much did nothing for all five days. It was perfect.
This is the second time we have done an all-inclusive and while I think this place was very nice, it has only been open for five months so I feel like they still have some kinks to work out. But it's hard to complain when you have this view to wake up to every morning.
What I loved about this hotel was that it was small and open. You didn't have to walk very far from your room to the pool or to the restaurants which is great when traveling with a group. We weren't spending our time searching for each other. They also had the nicest people working there.
I also loved the decor. Is it crazy to say this chair was one of my favorite things on the trip? They were in one of the restaurants we ate lunch at and all the girls wanted to take them home. The food was also very good. Although it was surprising how little seafood they had...was hoping for lots of crab legs and shrimp. Oh well.
Traveling with three other couples was a blast. We are lucky to all get along so well and I think this made the trip even that much better.
Foam pool party, hanging by the swim up bar, knocking each other off their raft and taking breaks to walk along the beach was how we spent our days. We all needed a break from our midwest winter.
So grateful for this trip and these friends. And even more grateful for having this guy below to travel with.
