My brother and his girlfriend are here for a visit and that means I'm off of work and awesome adventures are being had. We started on Friday with a trip to Chicago to check out Eataly. It was cold and rainy outside so we managed to spend five hours inside wondering, shopping for pasta, eating ravioli cooked in lemon butter and pizza covered in prosciutto and ricotta cheese, devouring salted caramel gelato and Nutella crepes, all while sipping Prosecco and rosé wine.
Next stop was Rebar at the Trump Hotel. I loved the beautiful view of the Chicago River and the delicious salty olives and spicy popcorn that came with our drinks.
One thing I want to remember from the day is the cab ride from Trump to the Ogilvie train station in rush hour with a crazy taxi driver. He had a lot to say and it made for a fun ride. I also want to remember the train ride home where we continued with drinks and more stories and more laughter.
Saturday we headed up to Racine, Wisconsin for the Great Lakes Brew Fest that was held at the Racine Zoo. It was a beautiful day...a little cold but absolutely perfect in my mind. It felt like fall and I love fall weather. We went with 7 other friends and enjoyed all different kinds of beer. It definitely got a little crazy as the day went on but it was so much fun just hanging out with awesome friends and family.
