Lately it seems like when I receive my monthly Studio Calico Project Life kit I get inspired to create traditional scrapbook layouts. I think it's because the kits have been so fantastic that they just inspire me to create more than just my Project Life spreads.
These two photos have been sitting on my desk since October. I knew I wanted to create 2 separate layouts and then put them in a page protector back to back. I mostly used cards and embellishments from the Sugar Rush Project Life kit, patterned paper from the Sugar Rush paper pad and other patterned paper I had on hand.
This layout is of my little sister Norah making a bracelet for me on her rainbow loom on the way to Kentucky. The photo is 5 x 5 and was taken with my iPhone. The layout measures 6.25 x 10.5. It's an unusual size but I like that. You can sew a page protector to any size so why not create different size layouts.
This one is of my little brother Mitch playing Holly Jolly Christmas through this little speaker in the car while driving around Lexington. It was hilarious. The photo is 5 x 6.25 and the layout is 5.75 x 12. The backing of this layout is an old Hambly transparency.
The star pieces are wood veneer from the Sugar Rush Project Life kit. I put black Zing! embossing powder on top and changed them into glossy black with my heat gun.
